Been awhile since the last post- the move and social activities have kept me at bay from blogland. The move went well and I’m eager to share some pics of the apartment, since it is such an interesting building. But I think I’ll save that for next time, since Rhinebeck is much more interesting for all the knitters to read. I posted the full photo album, so please feel free to take a look.
As many have read I spent the entire day with my Spiders , though I did have the esteemed chance to meet up with Purlingswine, and January One. If you ever get the chance to hang out with these two, bring your diapers because you’ll be peeing in your pants from laughing so hard. Please, when are you two coming to The Point?
Here are the goods from the festival starting from the left (swifted of course, right away):
Four hanks of “Alpaca Light” in red violet from A Touch of Twist. This, of course has shawl written all over it.
Behind that in dark green is some Brooks Farm, specificaly some Acero. This is a Superwash wool/silk/viscose blend. I picked up enough for a sweater, and I think I found the perfect pattern.
Next to that in silvery blue is some more Brooks Farm Four Play. I love this stuff.
The chocolate brown loveliness is some Alpaca, also from a touch of twist, which Veronique also scooped up. I'm thinking about a circular bolero.
And lastly, some deliciously soft silk- yes, pure unadulterated silk from Ellen's Half Pint Farm. I could not stop petting this all day. Yum yum yum!!!! This has to be a scarf, I NEED to have it on my face.
Let me just point out my favorite person at the festival, in case you don't get a chance to look at the album:
Whoever you are, I love you.
And there has been some knitting progress these last few weeks. I cast on for the Picovoli t-shirt from Grumperina. I started about three weeks ago, and will probably finish this weekend. Yay!!! It's cotton, which is not very concurrent with the weather, but I'll throw on a cardigan and wear it. Love love love this pattern! OSOH, I feel your pain with the cotton,
