Lordy it's been a busy week! Saturday was my 25th birthday and I had a rock n' roll time. I was shaking my thing and it was a blast. It was a double wammie Scorpio party with my friend Kevin's birthday the day before mine. We threw the party at Mary and Kevin's (Mary, my rock n roll catholic school girl chum) and it got a little crazy. Certain people who threw wine on the ceiling won't admit they did such things, but then again she probably doesn't remember doing it.
Kevin got really into the moment and took his shirt off, and a following started. It was a little scary. For a limited time, I'm posting pics on the photo album. There are some embarassing shots, so do not miss it.
Sunday, the actual Special Day, did not get off on a good foot. My Dad was planning to visit nyc for thanksgiving and my sister and I were quite anxious since he had not been to nyc since his navy days, about 1967. Her first reaction was, "What, is he coming to murder somebody?"
Well, the visit is not hapenning now because very suddenly his appendix nearly ruptured and he had to have emergency surgery to have it removed. It was caught in time but he is out of comission for a few days so nyc will have to wait.
My thanksgiving plans totally shot, I've decided to make the best of it and go volunteer. I've always wanted to do that, and now with the family not coming to visit, why not? I am kinda bummed, but it'll be an interesting holiday.
Otherwise it was a good 25th, with all day cocktails and a sushi dinner. Collin, you may never read this, but thank you for making it a really special day.
Meanwhile, so much knitting has been hapenning! I've finished the lace runner!!!!!! I know I've been promising to post the pattern, but now I really will (tomorrow or Friday). I haven't blocked it yet, and I want to take pictures in its final form.
Progress has been hapenning on the Yesterknits ribbed bolero. The brooks farm yarn is amazing. I actually took this picture on Monday night, and now, Wednesday afternoon, the side panal is about four inches longer. This yarn is so fast and easy to work with, and sof too. I can't count how many times I've whipped it out for others to feel. Lordy it's soft! And yes, this project is going to be a christmas gift, so i feel like a double angel for kitting it away, however, I still have more brooks farm from Sheep and Wool for another project.
Tonight I'm going to start the flower basket shawl now that I'm home and have some time. I am not afraid. I shall conquor.
good luck on your flower basket shawl!
